The National Water Agency (ANA) has detected, in the past three years, a total of 54 dams in the country with infrastructure problems. This volume equates to more than half of the total of the 104 dams monitored by the agency.

Between 2016 and 2018, ANA imposed 26 fines on 23 dams, for a total amount of R $ 79,000. Eight additional notices of offenses with a daily fine were issued against eight roadblocks for a total of R $ 267,000.

Inspection actions of ANA dams are planned.
