Jiu-Jitsu fighter Patrícia da Cunha Leite, 24, died Sunday afternoon (27), several hours after being shot in the head during her birthday party in the South Zone of Manaus.
Patricia was hospitalized at the João Lúcio hospital and emergency room in the eastern part of the capital. The Office of Homicide and Kidnapping (DEHS) will investigate his death.
The crime was committed at dawn on Sunday. According to the civilian police, around 3 am, military police officers received a complaint that three men from a Corsa model car had committed attacks on Japiim. During an investigation, the prime minister was able to identify the suspects near Avenida Tefe, in the southern area of the capital.
The Prime Minister also received the complaint that the trio would be involved in an attempted murder just before the approach.
The civilian police announced that the three men had arrived at the place where Patricia was celebrating her birthday and had announced the badault. At one point, one of the suspects asked questions about the fighter. After no one answered, one of them recognized the victim and fired three shots at the fighter 's head.
The three suspects were arrested and taken to the 1st Integrated Police District (IPD). With them, stolen items were seized, as well as a simulacrum of firearms. The weapon used in the crime was not found with the trio.
One of the 33-year-old was already released from the murder in May 2009. They remain at the headquarters of the 1st DIP until Monday, when they will be sent to a custody hearing.
