The PF stops five engineers who have testified to the safety of a dam that has broken – Horizons

Five engineers working for the Vale mining company attesting to the safety of the Feijão mine dam 1, which erupted in Brumadinho, in the Belo Horizonte metropolitan area, were arrested on Tuesday (29). The court orders, issued by the Federal Court, were executed in Nova Lima, Grande BH and São Paulo. The targets were the headquarters of the company and the residences of the people involved.

In all, seven warrants were issued, including five in prison and the other in search and seizure. The warrants are valid for 30 days. According to the Federal Police (FP), the mega-operation was aimed at "establishing criminal responsibility for the breaching of the dam in the Córrego do Feijão mine in the town of Brumadinho."

The investigators determine whether the technical documents are drawn up by Vale companies and that guarantee the safety of the dam that was broken, were, in a way, fraudulent. The tragedy that occurred last Friday (25) has resulted in 65 deaths to date. The number of missing persons is 279 and 386 have been located.

Vale indicated by note that it was collaborating fully with the authorities. "Vale will continue to contribute to the investigation of the facts, as well as the unconditional support given to affected families."

In addition to the FP, action began on Tuesday. the participation of the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office, the Ministries of the State and the State of Minas Gerais and the Civil and Military Police of Minas Gerais
