Mourão greets the moderates and receives the compliments of the left, but beware!

Vice President General Hamilton Mourão was a more moderate voice in the new Bolsonaro administration.

Without a definite function, Mourão acted as an articulator, received businessmen and politicians for conversations, and talked extensively with the press – perhaps even too much.

When Lula attended the funeral of his brother, for example, he spoke of a "humanitarian problem". While Bolsonaro frequently attacks the press and even gives the press conference in Davos, Mourão praises the work of the journalists. On Venezuela, he refuses to send troops.

He thus prepares the story of an alternative to Bolsonaro, in the possible case of the scandal involving Queiroz and his son Flavio taking on magnitude and affecting the president. It would be ironic, let's face it: many felt that Bolsonaro had chosen a soldier as a deputy to prevent any indictment of the opposition and that the general is now considered more moderate than the former captain.

I do not deny the tone of Mourão. I like that, especially when he identifies the hard core of the government, namely the children of Bolsonaro and his closest entourage. These are really radical people, inspired by the crazy Steve Bannon, who often adopt the same methods as their opponents of the PT. Sometimes, however, I think Mourão makes too many concessions to the "progressives".

But the point here is another: to show the modus operandi of the left. Now she even agrees to rent Mourão for a reason: he is not responsible. That is, they are tactical compliments to attack Bolsonaro in the background. If Mourão ever wanted to take power, it would change overnight, in the blink of an eye, and the general would be presented as a right-wing extremist.

Here in the United States, it's the same thing. Today, the Democratic Left even praises Bush, forgetting that he was demonized when he was in power.

The praises of other conservatives are intended only to portray Trump, the current president, as anyone else. much worse and more radical. It's pure cynicism and hypocrisy. The left claims not to treat even the very moderate Mitt Romney as a kind of insensitive Nazi who abused dogs and did not care about the poor

The same tactic is used by the left to talk about the opinion leaders of the right. Today, they agree to even hire Roberto Campos, who was ridiculed in his day, called "Bob Fields" and "Entreguista". All to invest in the narrative that "more right-wing than old-fashioned thinkers" and all current extremists are crazy extremists.

Here is the leitmotif of this leftist discourse: always attack right-wing intellectuals and current politicians they exert more influence or are in power, even if they have to light candles for defeated conservatives or to weave a compliment to those who are further away from power

Mourão, beware! You can let these old foes cajole your head and love the idea of a change of command. Not that he is a conspirator, which does not seem to be the case.

And if he took control, he would see with surprise that all these compliments will disappear and the general will automatically receive the same adjectives and labels for President Bolsonaro today.

The only rational way to deal with the compliments of the leftists is to ignore them, to know that they are a calculating strategy, never a sincere recognition. When I start to receive compliments from certain types, I get to redouble attention to see where I'm wrong …
