Israeli scientists unveiled Thursday morning (31) what can be considered the best news of all time.
Professionals working for Accelerated Evolution Biotechnology (AEBi), founded in 2000, claim to have succeeded in creating a compound capable of curing cancer in less than a year, one of the diseases that kills the most in the world. .
"We think that in one year we will have the complete cure for cancer, it will be effective from the first day, last a few weeks and will not have any serious side effects and will cost much cheaper than most treatments on the market " comments researcher Dan Aridor, director of AEBi's board of directors, in an interview for the Israeli newspaper The Jerusalem Post.
Treatment is called MuTaTo (multi-target toxin) and is considered an antibiotic that will work against the tumor. Based on SoAP technology, which incorporates the DNA of a given protein into a bacteriophage (virus infecting bacteria), it will be exposed on the surface of the host microorganism. From there, researchers use the proteins displayed by bacteriophages to track interactions with other proteins, with genetic material or with small molecules.
The revolutionary method can target three targets or cancer cells at a time, unlike the drugs used today, which target a specific target and can mutate and metastasize.
"We make sure that the treatment will not be affected by the mutations, the cancer cells can even mutate but the target receptors will eventually be eliminated" explains researcher Ilan Morad, CEO of AEBi.
Novelty is already tested on guinea pigs and will soon be the subject of clinical trials on patients with the disease.
