The application will be developed by the Japanese manufacturer in partnership with the LINE messaging service and should be released in the middle of the year – next to the new release date of Mario Kart Tour.
In the original version of Dr. Mario, players had to rearrange different color pills as they fell to eliminate them from the board (slightly similar to the Candy Crush saga). Nintendo confirmed that the application would be distributed for free, but that it would require internal purchases.
Mario World will be available on iOS and Android in about 60 regions at the start.
