Cape Verdean police arrested 11 Russian sailors accused of trafficking over nine tons of cocaine, Russian news agencies reported, citing local police.
The RIA news agency announced that the ESER ship, flying the flag of Panama, was heading to Tangier, Morocco, from Panama.
The Russian Embbady in Cape Verde, an archipelago off the African coast, declined to comment during his phone call on Saturday. According to Refinitiv Eikon data, the ESER boat remains in Porto Praia.
