A fire killed 10 people and wounded three at the Flamengo training center in Vargem Grande, in the western area of Rio, at dawn on Friday 8th. Firefighters were fired at around 5am.
According to firefighters, there is a person seriously injured among the wounded. The dead have not yet been identified.
The western zone was one of the most affected by the rain this Wednesday (6). In the morning of this Friday, the nest of Urubu continued without light and without water due to the storm.

The images made by Globocop show an area of the club scanner completely destroyed by the flames. At 0720, the flames were already under control and the firefighters intervened only afterwards.
The damage caused by the fire was so severe that it was difficult to identify what was working in the area earlier this morning. In the area where the fire occurred, the Globocop images showed only twisted poles and cremated material.
The training center president, George Helal, conh The Urubu nest in Vargem Grande, in the western zone of Rio, is a training center used by the Flamengo professional football team and by its basic categories.
This space is considered one of the most the most modern training centers in Latin America and one of the largest in the world. It includes a professional module, two courses, a training ground for goalkeepers and other structures.
In 2018, year of inauguration of the new professional module, the pre-existing structure was left for the basic categories and, for professional football, a new module was made available, with new housing, a water park, a football field (five in total).
