The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Sérgio Moro, authorized Friday (8) the extension of the National Force to Ceará 30 days. Since January 4, 400 men of the National Force have reinforced patrols on the roads and intelligence activities in the state.
Since January 2, the date of commencement of criminal proceedings, 261 attacks on buses, cars, public buildings, prefectures and businesses have been perpetrated in 50 of the 184 municipalities of Ceará.

At the request of the state governor, Camilo Santana, Moro responded. According to the minister, the actions of the national force have reduced criminal actions and ensure the order and protection of the state's population.
Criminal actions began in Fortaleza and spread to the metropolitan area and several towns in the interior. The Ceará Public Security Secretariat confirmed that 461 people had already been arrested for involvement in criminal acts.
There have been 26 consecutive days of criminal attacks against the state. After the series followed by violence, Ceará registered no criminal action Monday (28), according to the state government. However, thugs set fire to vehicles on January 29th.
After that, Ceará remained five days without criminal attacks, but after the truce, a truck of wheat was set on fire in Fortaleza at dawn on Monday (4).
