The process will now be sent to the jurisdiction of the TRF, which will define the date of the inauguration of the new judge. Bonat replacing a federal judge in the FRF until the 19th, he is expected to attend only after taking office in the Federal Court.
On the advice of the federal courts, he explained his motivation and declared that he had acted for part of his career. in criminal proceedings. "This sparked my interest in the issue and was fundamental in the decision to apply to fill the vacancy opened by the current Minister of Justice Sergio Moro's judicial exoneration."
As for Lava Jato, Bonat said that he would only manifest himself in the records. as in the previous operation. "We will always respect the principle of publicity of procedural acts, which is a fundamental guarantee of justice, subject, of course, to questions of confidentiality," he said.
With his 25 years as a magistrate, Bonat is the highest judge. Former president of the Federal Court of the 4th region, he currently works only at the 21st Federal Court of Curitiba for social security issues.
