The city of Araraquara is experiencing an epidemic of dengue fever. ACIDadeON with 906 confirmed cases in the first 35 days of the year, went in search of the "map of dengue", that is to say of the regions which concentrate the greatest number of the disease, which takes about 160 health units with suspicion and symptoms.

According to epidemiological surveillance, most cases are concentrated in six regions: Vila Xavier, with 280 cases; Central and Carmo, with 130; Selmi Dei with 100; Yolanda Oppice, with 40; Jardim das Hortênsias, with 37 years and Santa Angelina, with 35 years (see map below) .

Only in Vila Xavier, all the inhabitants of one street share the same pain. On Umberto Landucci Avenue, consisting of ten residences, whole families were infected with the dengue virus. One of the most serious cases of Dengue Avenue is the neighbor of the 27th house, who was suffering from dengue hemorrhagic fever and had to be hospitalized for a week.

The prefecture seeks to intensify actions to eliminate breeding sites of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito. Among the measures announced, there is the creation of a "working group" that travels the streets of different neighborhoods by collecting unusable materials such as cans, plastic containers, bottles, tires, sinks , waste and other materials that may accumulate water. In total, 300 employees and about 20 trucks are mobilized.
