The Zoological Park and Botanical Garden of São Paulo recommend that only visitors vaccinated against yellow fever visit these places. The recommendation is formulated following the finding that a howler monkey was infected with yellow fever
. The guideline is intended to prevent the public from being exposed to the virus and likely to become infected.

Contacted by R7 the administration of the infected bird is alive, isolated and under surveillance. Zoological Park reported that the influx of visitors is normalized and that, if the person has not been vaccinated, he can be vaccinated at the service station installed in front of the local counter. However, visits should only take place 10 days after taking the dose, when the vaccine comes into effect.
