A body of a man was found by bathers around 9 pm on Monday at the end of Macumba Beach, in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, in the western area of Rio. The body would be Marcelo Francisco Maciel, 37 years old. He and his wife, 38-year-old Jaqueline Amorim de Souza, reportedly went to the rocks of Praia do Secreto near Macumba Beach on Sunday afternoon to take pictures. On the site, a strong wave would have hit the couple and would have dragged them both towards the sea. Jaqueline's body was found Monday afternoon.
The couple's parents were in Macumba Beach on Monday night, but they did not want to talk to the press.
Through social networks, the family warned that Jaqueline's burial would take place on Tuesday at the San Francisco Xavier cemetery, Caju, in the northern area of Rio. The body of Marcelo, has not yet been published by the Instituto Médico Legal (IML)
