The English bulldog Sion died Tuesday (4) during a Lufthansa flight between Rio de Janeiro and Frankfurt, for reasons unknown to date. The death was denounced on social networks by the owner of the dog, Alice Aguiar, and confirmed to UOL by the airline.

As Alice wrote on Facebook, her husband boarded the flight on Monday (3) taking the couple's two dogs. The final destination of the trip was Lisbon, but during the stopover in Germany, her husband was called by the airport microphone and informed that the bulldog had died.

Still according to Alice, the husband asked to see the dog, but the airline did not allow it, citing a "contagious disease pattern". "Information we do not understand," wrote the owner. The company also informed at that time that the animal would be cremated and that his remains would be sent to the lost place of Lisbon.

"An absurd without size, a total negligence of the airline", writes Alice on social networks. "There is NO report, there is no documentation that proves what has actually happened to my dog, I have not allowed cremation, I have not signed any document, no term, NOTHING !!! "

Since then, the couple has no information about who has arrived in Zion and where his remains are. On Friday (7), Alice announced that on December 5, her husband had received an email in English, without Lufthansa identification, and that he had been forgotten because he did not know the language. In the email, the airline offers the contact of the Frankfurt crematorium.

In an official note sent to UOL Lufthansa regrets the death of the bulldog. "We express our deepest condolences and feelings to the dog owners and we are in contact with them," says the text. The company also reports that, by decision of the local German authorities, the animal had to undergo an autopsy and that his remains were not released at the moment. "We can not provide additional information before the end of this review," the note concludes.
