A Facebook flaw was confirmed by the company on Monday (2) and affected more than 800,000 social network users. The people affected by the bug were left with some of their posts accessible to users who had been blocked by them on the network. In addition, these stuck users have been allowed to send messages via Messenger, which should not happen when you block the person.
Erin Egan, the head of Facebook's security, has issued a text of apologies. He confirmed that the company will notify all users affected by the bug during the period it became active between May 29 and June 5. The notification should encourage users to check the blocked list to make sure all unwanted people are present.
In his text, Egan also tries to rebadure Facebook users by mentioning that no broken friendship has been reestablished in the network. and that 83% of the affected users had only one person on their list that was temporarily unlocked. Facebook did not specify whether the bug was discovered internally or only after user complaints.
