The pain of a tragedy that took the lives of a mother, a daughter and a grandfather, the family of Helena Machado Carvalho, 8, the only survivor of the car involved in a serious accident with two trucks on the highway Elyeser Montenegro Magalhães (SP-463) and hospitalized since December 14 at the Santa Casa de Araçatuba, where she had to be amputated with one leg and strive not to lose the other because of an infection, has to deal with another malaise: allowed that has spread through social networks asking for cash help for the treatment of the girl.

This Thursday (24), the father of Helena, the self-driving driver José Aparecido Carvalho, went to the site of Araçatuba and its region which, after the tragedy occurred at the late last year, had lost his eldest daughter Isadora Carlhos. ; the ex-wife Maria Cristina Machado, 41 years old; and his ex-father-in-law Antônio Machado, 69, friends of Santo Antônio do Aracanguá, became aware of the situation and began their own mobilization through Whatsapp to help him. But it is not for the matter to be extended.

"We are humble, I work with student transportation and we appreciate the support of our friends, but it was a subject that had been quietly treated in a Whatsapp group, it just leaked and went on Facebook" he explains. "All the help we received was welcome, but we did not go on social networks to ask for money, and in no way do we struggle with what we have and what we get. public services and people close to us who have been in solidarity with us. "

Zezinho, as the father of Helena called, said that he was embarrbaded to see his bank data posted on social networks with a request for financial aid. "At no time in the family have we allowed this to spread, even because it can put the family in a complicated situation, as if it were taking advantage of the situation. he explains.

Helena's father stated that the family had encountered difficulties and had taken turns accompanying the girl to the hospital. She has an aunt, a nurse at Santa Casa, who accompanies her frequently and alternates with other appearances.

RISK OF LOSING ANOTHER LEG

According to Zezinho, Helena's situation requires a lot of care and she is still running a significant risk of getting her left leg amputated due to an infection. In addition to a load of antibiotics and other medications that she receives daily, the girl is subjected to hyperbaric chamber sessions – a method in which the patient is under pressure. up to three times the atmospheric pressure at sea level, breathing 100% oxygen – which allowed to control the progression of the infection.

"We are all fighting, the risk of a new amputation is still high because Helena lost muscle mbad and tissue during the accident, and this causes a kind of necrosis that causes This hyperbaric session helped to control the infection, which was the main problem that led to the amputation of the right leg. "

Each hyperbaric session costs R $ 400.00 and is performed in a clinic outside the Santa Casa de Araçatuba, where Helena is hospitalized. So that the girl can move, the city of Santo Antônio do Aracanguá has made available an ambulance that takes her to the hospital, takes her to treatment and brings her back on her return.

"We are very grateful for the aids we benefit from, such as transportation and even the cost of treatment, but what I want to make clear is that we are not asking desperately for the help we receive. money for that. Also because we are afraid of these campaigns that spread, because it is the image of my daughter who is exposed and personal information that can be used in a malicious way, "says the Father. "I reiterate our gratitude, but I urge people to disregard everything that has spread via social networks.Unfortunately, a question addressed in a reserved group eventually expanded without the consent of the members of the family.
