Two people were hit by stray bullets while they were accompanying the early-year party on Copacabana Beach, in the southern area of Rio. A man was shot in the leg and a woman was injured in the shoulder on Tuesday at 1am. (1).

Police said the victims were on the sidewalk near the Copacabana Palace hotel. The man was taken to Miguel Couto Hospital and his wife, Souza Aguiar.
