Nvidia's range of RTX video cards debuted with Ray Tracing technology, currently limited to the Battlefield V game. A demo managed to be available at the latest Brazil Game Show and showed why this new feature is a good bridge.
However, they discovered that the old Titan V model, still with the Volta architecture, could also benefit from the activation of this technology in the game settings. For the developers, this was not surprising since some used this card as a reference model for testing, but what it is able to do with the RT draws attention.
the Titan V is able to reach 80 FPS on the title card Fjell 652. By comparison, the Titan RTX reaches 87. The difference is seven.
This is explained by the fact that, even though Volta architecture model cores are not designed specifically for ray tracing, they still gain in quantity: they are 5120 vs. 4608 of Turing architecture.
Battlefield V is the first game to support this feature, and throughout 2019, we should see other developers integrate technology to their titles. Although Nvidia still needs some more user-friendly cards, it should popularize its next generation GPUs in the coming months.
It should be noted that several rumors indicate that the imminent launch of RTX 2060.
. And you, are you looking forward to the next versions of the RTX range? Have some of the most advanced GPUs been released? Tell us in the comments!
