The 2nd BPM (Botafogo), in the southern area of Rio, won a mascot this Sunday (16): Shaia, a mixed pit bull. The bitch was a homeless person who had been involved in a dawn incident and, after seeing the owner taken to the twelfth DP (Copacabana), she started screaming. Second Lieutenant Greice Bianca decided to take her to the battalion.
"Leaving Shaia would be a great evil," he wrote to the lieutenant. At the police station, it was discovered that the owner had been sentenced to prison for robbery. The battalion command accepted the adoption.
"It broke my heart to see the sadness of the dog and his intelligence," continued Greice. "If I left her in the streets of Botafogo, I would be the victim of an ailment. It was clear that the dog, in addition to being very docile, had been trained and had a very affectionate bond with his owner", he added.
