RIO – A trawler in Lauro Sodré street, in front of the Rio Sul shopping center in Botafogo, caused panic on Saturday evening in the area around 19:30.
According to initial reports, young people allegedly descended from a collective and stole those who were at the bus stop. There was a rush and many pedestrians sought shelter inside the mall.
Frightened, customers and employees of the mall panicked. There was rush to the first floor and chairs in the food court were knocked down. The restaurants even closed the doors for a few minutes and the officials threw themselves on the ground. Before 8 pm, according to the mall press service, the operation was already standardized.
The Debora de Lucena pedagogue arrived at the scene with the family shortly after the event and found the tension.
– I noticed the big police movement and many people commenting on what had happened. I saw a lot of chairs on the floor because of the haste. Security inside the mall is enhanced. On the street, at least two PM vehicles are nearby, "he said.
