Convicted of the murder of millionaire Renné Senna, the hairdresser Adriana Ferreira Almeida, known as the widow of the mega-Sena, suffered another defeat in court. She tried to cancel a sentence that invalidates Renné's will, which is good for her. But the judges of the 17th Civil Division unanimously rejected the appeal and sentenced Adriana to a fine if she appealed again.
The widow can now only attempt to overturn the decision of the Superior Court of Justice. The inheritance, of more than 100 million dollars, is disputed by Adriana and the 11 brothers of the victim. A former farm worker, Renné was killed by his wife shortly after winning the draw. According to Judge Elton Leme, rapporteur of the case, the embargoes on the statement of Adriana "are not intended to remedy omissions, obscurities or contradictions, but to rediscuss the substance of the issues already badyzed by the Court ". The case is kept secret.
The victim was shot dead by two men hired by Adriana in January 2007, after being arrested in June.
