The Municipality of Campo Mourão closed the year 2018 with a positive record in terms of job creation, according to the General Register of Employees and Unemployed (Caged) of the Ministry of Labor. According to the data, 9,370 admissions as against 8,510 layoffs during the period generated a positive balance of 860 vacancies.
The employment rate in the city last year had a change of 3.80%. According to Caged, the most used sectors are services (6.07%) and trade (3.86%). The people who fired most were the public administration (-6.17%); and civil construction (-4.0%).
The hiring by segment was as follows: agricultural sector 265 hires against 284 layoffs (-19); public administration, 10 admissions and 25 layoffs (-15); 3,278 admissions to 2,770 redundancies (+478); trade, 3,426 contracts with 3,108 denominations (-318); construction, 773 hires against 804 redundancies (-31); and processing industry, 1,642 entries against 1,514 redundancies (+128).
In mid-December, when the number of vacant positions due to end-of-year sales increased, Campo Mourão posted a negative balance of jobs. The Paraná still has the best result in terms of job creation since 2014. According to the data, 40 256 new jobs were created with a formal contract in 2018, which represents an increase of 230% over to 2017.
The state's performance reflects the improvement of the service and trade sectors. In 2018, 30,258 new openings were opened for the services sector. Trade, in turn, closed the year with a positive balance of 9,426 new jobs. The civil construction and utilities sectors also posted optimistic results, with 2,386 new job opportunities.

In the state, the cities that generated the greatest number of jobs in 2018 are Curitiba, São José dos Pinhais, Maringá, Foz do Iguaçu and Ponta Grossa.
