Mayra Dias, a 27-year-old woman from Amazonas, was named in the top 20 of Miss Universe 2018 Sunday night in Bangkok, Thailand. Itacoatiara's natural, beautiful has advanced to the next phase of the contest.
Mayra was ranked among the top 20 women in the repechage, after not being called during the continent phase. When announced, presenter Steve Harvey questioned the Amazon about his experience of visiting and knowing the communities bordering the Amazon.

Mayra Dias is a graduate in journalism and holds a degree in press and digital media consulting. Experienced in beauty pageants, the young woman already participated in the Reina Hispanoamericana contest, where she held third place. In May, Mayra was also a finalist for Miss World Brazil.
In May of this year, she was crowned Miss Brazil by beating 26 other competitors. She was the second woman of Amazonas since Terezinha Morango, in 1957, to win the Miss Brazil title. The victory gives the young woman the right to compete in Miss Universe and, for that, she improves the processes of bridge, oratory and aesthetics.
