An arms decree remains for next week, says Onyx

BRASÍLIA – The Minister of the Civil House,
Onyx Lorenzoni
, confirmed Friday the information that the decree of easing the possession of firearms will not be signed this Friday
had advanced the governor of São Paulo, João Doria (PSDB)
. According to Minister, the new forecast is that the text be finalized and approved by President Jair
Bolsonaro
between Monday and Tuesday of next week.

– The decree is still in the finalization phase. It should come out early next week, "he said.

The IBGE and the Ministry of Health data cross-checked by GLOBO show that
at least 169.6 million people – four out of five Brazilians – could be directly affected
if the text confirms the possibility of easier access to urban guns with homicide rates greater than ten deaths per 100,000 inhabitants.

In 2018,
the federal police (FP) granted, between new requests and revalidations, 258,427 registrations
of possession of a firearm for the civilian population in Brazil – 708 on average per day.
