Four days after a federal judge ordered the release of a Brazilian boy admitted to a Chicago shelter United States lawyers specializing in l & # 39; immigration. Boston filed a second lawsuit against the US government, asking the same court to release another Brazilian . The action was filed yesterday (2) on behalf of Sirley Silveira Paixão, 30, who is seeking the release of Diego, her 10-year-old son.
Mother and son arrived in the United States on May 22 to seek refuge, but soon they were separated by immigration officers . Sirley was detained until June 13 and since has been living in the suburbs of Boston, an area where there is a high concentration of Brazilians.
Diego was taken to the Heartland Human Care Service in Chicago. It is the same hideaway where Diogo de Oliveira left, the nine-year-old Brazilian boy released by order of a federal judge on Thursday (28). Diogo spent a month there, where he was only entitled to a weekly phone call with his mother.
The lawyer of both cases, Jesse Bless, hoped that the release of Diogo would lead the authorities to also release the son of Paixão,
The second case, similar to the previous one, argues that Diego can not to be kept at the shelter under the pretense of being an "unaccompanied minor" because he was with his mother when he entered the United States.
The text also states that the mother has completed all the documents necessary for the release of the boy and that the federal authorities have considered the justification of the Pbadion as a safe haven in the country
Bless hopes that a Diego's case hearing will take place this week, but fears that the national holiday in the country on Wednesday (4) will hinder his plans.
