Apple CEO Tim Cook told investors that the company was hoping to sell less iPhone during the first quarter of the year, explaining the battery replacement program launched in the last part of 2017.
As you may recall, the performance of older models of the iPhone have been detrimental to Apple, which has led many users to criticize the company by pointing out that it only did it to force more people to buy the latest models
Although Apple has justified this practice as a way to deal with aging batteries – based on the idea that lower performance would not be as demanding with a lower battery – it reduced the price of replacing the battery.
