An Argentine woman who was kidnapped 32 years ago was rescued last week in Bolivia with her 9-year-old son, police said on Tuesday. At the age of 13, she was trafficked and forced into prostitution.

The victim, abducted in Mar del Plata in 1987 and taken to Bolivia in a brothel, is saved, returns to his country of origin and spends Christmas with his family. On Saturday she was saved in a garage where she lived in conditions similar to slavery.

At the time, a 50-year-old man, known as AC, drove the victim and his older sister, with whom he had bad, to the neighboring country. He promised that he would find them work. Three months later, the older sister was released and sent back to Argentina, but the youngest remained and was forced into prostitution for more than three decades.

During all the years of disappearance, the victim's family continued their search. In December 2014, the Investigations and Proceedings Unit asked to look for information about women. Earlier this year, authorities discovered where the woman was in the city of Bermejo and learned that she had a child.

Police forces of both countries worked on the case and the rescue of the victim, who was brought back to Mar del Plata. Trafficking in persons is the third highest crime in the world.
