When was the last time you called or received a cell phone call? The traditional phone call has long since fallen out of fashion, and audio messages have become the darling of WhatsApp users.
Who has never experienced such a situation: you are in the middle of a meeting, a course or another appointment, you receive an audio, you do not can not hear. To help reduce anxiety in such situations, there is one application that does this: it is the Transcriber . Created by an Italian developer, the app is free (it has a paid version) and is currently only available for Android.
The report of UOL Technology tested the Transcriber. The application is light (it's just a little over 4 MB) and simple, but not very intuitive – you have to see the tutorial available in the app to see how it works.
Select audio, click on the three points to share and select "Transcriber"
Unlike many applications, Transcriber does not work in its own environment. To use it, you have to access WhatsApp, select the audio you want to convert, click on Share then on the option "Transcriber".
In a few seconds, the message appears in text format, which can be copied and shared.
The application's icon will appear among the sharing options; the transcribed text appears on the screen
When you enter the application, you see the history of the transcribed messages. By clicking on the three points at the top right, then in "Settings", it is possible to define the language that will be used (there are 42 language options).
The report recorded, sent and converted short films in three languages (Portuguese, Spanish and English). In all three tests, the message was transcribed as it was pronounced. In other words, it worked very well.
You can transcribe in multiple languages; and the app stores a story
Help for the hearing impaired
With over 500,000 downloads since its release in September last year, the app was created to help people who have difficulty hearing response to a user who commented on Google Play that the app was helping his hearing-impaired girlfriend, developer Mirko Dimartino wrote, "It makes me happy, my app was born to help the hard-of-hearing."
Another surfer said that the app is useful for avoiding the right skirt. "Now we will not fall into groaning," he says, referring to the audio that has triggered the voice of a woman who moans with pleasure. Currently, the app has an average rating of 4.3 in the Google Apps Store.
