A pregnant woman drank wine while watching a World Cup match when she went into premature labor. The pregnant Polish woman was taken to a medical center and after seven minutes in the hospital, she gave birth to a premature baby. The baby was born at 31 weeks of gestation, which means two months earlier than expected.

The doctors were shocked to find that the premature baby still had an alcohol concentration 10 times higher than the threshold. The mother, in turn, had an alcohol concentration five times above the threshold.

From birth, the baby was sent to the hospital of Opole University, also in Poland, because of poor health. "It was a very premature delivery, with only 31 weeks of gestation," says Dr. Czeslaw Milejski, who followed the delivery in an interview with Kidspot.

The baby is hospitalized and under medical observation. According to doctors, it is too early to tell if the excessive consumption of alcohol by his mother has caused permanent damage to the infant.

Police investigate the mother. She left the hospital on her own the next day and she is at home. The woman has three other children
