Banco Safra had deposited almost $ 200 million on the company accounts managed by Renan and three cousins, owners of the network Atacadão dos Móveis, whose head office is located in Porto Alegre. Deposits of $ 52.5 million, $ 35 million, $ 42 million and $ 70 million were made in four bank accounts.
The money came in as it resulted from purchases made by network customers on the credit card. "I get that kind of credit on my account every day, but it's normal, never that size," Renan said. He quickly imagined that it was an error of the bank and had not even sought the institution. "I was watching for almost four hours and I did not make any gesture, it's sad to be a millionaire and not being able to touch money," he jokes. . "I felt like an Eike Batista, with locked goods."
The next day, all movements made by Safra in the company's accounts were excluded and do not even appear in the December count.
Like other clients, the same dread has occurred, but it is unclear how many cases have occurred and what is the total amount of deposits made in error.
