President Jair Bolsonaro (PSL) signed Friday (8) a limited and humane pardon for critically ill and terminally ill prisoners.
Forgiveness, to be released Monday (11) in the Official Journal of the Union prohibits the granting of benefits to persons found guilty of corruption, heinous crimes, torture and other crimes.
Only persons who are deprived of their liberty who are terminally ill or who suffer from a serious illness requiring continuing care may apply for a pardon in addition to cases in which paraplegia, quadriplegia and blindness were acquired after the commission of the offense.
Forgiveness is prohibited in case of conviction for heinous crimes, crimes of torture or serious violence, terrorism, rape and badual harbadment, rape of vulnerable persons, corruption of minors, sale or transport of drugs, etc.
