The Plbadto Palace said Monday (7) that President Jair Bolsonaro would attend this month's World Economic Forum in Davos, his first international trip after taking office.
The meeting in Switzerland will take place from the 22nd to the 25th and will bring together some 250 G20 authorities (from the 20 largest economies in the world) and other countries.
At the forum, world leaders debated the establishment of a common global, regional and industrial economic agenda.
In the past 10 years, Brazilian presidents have only been twice at the forum.
Brazil's last participation dates back to last year, when the then President, Michel Temer, appeared in the edition, breaking a three-year sequence without Brazil sending at the forum the main authority of the country.
Former President Dilma Rousseff, Temer's predecessor, only went to Davos in 2014. Former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva was present at the forum in 2003, 2005 and 2007.
"Globalization 4.0: Building a Global Architecture in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution".
The meeting will be based on five principles:
- dialogue is essential and must be multi-stakeholder;
- globalization must be accountable and take into account regional and national interests;
- The Forum's introductory text stresses that:
- global growth must be inclusive and sustainable
. This year's meeting will be presented in a "context of unprecedented uncertainties, weaknesses and controversies" in a troubled world of crisis management.
In four days, the Forum will also address issues such as geopolitics, the future of the economy, cybersecurity, human capital and industrial systems.
