A 29-year-old girl from Guaxupe (MG) died after being overthrown last Saturday (29) in Berlin, the capital of Germany. Maria Julia Gabriel, 29, was brain dead Monday afternoon (31). She donated organs and transplanted them successfully to patients in a German hospital.
According to reports in the German media, the couple was beaten by a group of five around 2:30 am on Saturday by a car that broke through the sidewalk. According to German media reports, witnesses told the police that shortly before the accident the driver made a red light and stormed the sidewalk at a junction, throwing the victims.
The driver, a Lithuanian citizen aged 30, voluntarily underwent a blood test allowing him to find that he was neither drunk nor under the influence of drugs. He was released on bail. His car, a BMW, had already been confiscated by the police.
The wounded were taken to local hospitals. Maria Julia was saved in serious condition and died two days later. Her boyfriend is already hospitalized in a Berlin hospital where she was operated for putting pins on her shin. Other people suffered minor injuries.
Still according to the boyfriend, Maria Júlia's organs were transplanted and the body should be brought to Brazil as soon as the death certificate has been issued by the German police. In social networks, friends lamented the death of the young woman.
In contact with G1 Itamaraty informed that the consular sector of the Brazilian Embbady in Berlin had been activated and was following the situation of the Brazilians involved. The agency also indicates that a representative of the Embbady is in contact with relatives in Brazil, as well as the hospital that serves Brazilian citizens, to provide consular badistance appropriate.
