Cabify and Easy joined their operations management on Wednesday (23). The companies are controlled by the Maxi Mobility group and already have a range of features integrated between the two platforms, but they will now offer their urban mobility services in a single application.
By e-mail triggered today (23) for its users, Cabify confirms that "together, we are the largest mobility application of Ibero-America and, with that, we will offer more cars and services in one application. " The administrations of Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula will go through these unifications and the teams will respond to Cabify's general manager, Vicente Pascual. In total, this change will affect 12 countries, including Brazil, Spain and Portugal.
The merger between the two companies began in June 2017, when both began to consider a merger. At the time, the goal was to join forces to defeat Uber, which held 65% of the transportation market for applications in Brazil. In November of last year, they again show an approach allowing users to request Easy taxis directly from the Cabify application. At the time, Pascual had announced that it was proposed to set up a platform called Mobility as a Service, known as MaaS.
Created in Madrid in 2011, Cabify arrived in Brazil in June 2016 and is currently operating in nine national cities: Belo Horizonte (MG), Brasilia (DF), Campinas (SP), Curitiba (PR), Porto Alegre (RS), Canoas (RS), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Santos (SP) and São Paulo (SP). Easy is a Brazilian company created in 2011. Its application is used in 400 cities in Brazil and in nine countries around the world.
