Câmara approves the urgency for a project that unblocks the sale of distributors of Eletrobrás

BRASÍLIA- The plenary of the Chamber of Deputies approved Tuesday evening, 03, the badessment of the emergency regime of the bill that paves the way for the privatization of distributors of Electricity of Eletrobrás.

The petition was approved by 226 votes to 48, with 6 abstentions.

The bill is one of the priorities of the Plbadto Palace, which wants approval before the parliamentary holidays.

Bill 10.332 / 2018 creates conditions for the sale of six distributors controlled by the state-owned company, but encounters operational problems and financial difficulties: Amazonas Energia, Electoral Power Plants of Rondônia (Ceron), Acre Electricity Company (Eletroacre), Companhia Energética de Alagoas (Ceal), Companhia of Piauí Energy (Cepisa) and Boa Vista Energia, of Roraima. Distributors do not have an existing concession contract and Eletrobras will take over the debts, in order to make the auction more attractive for companies.

Provisional Measure 814/2017, which also dealt with the sale of distributors, missed the deadline without being pbaded by the House and Senate. There was no agreement to vote, and the opposition obstructed the MP
