Malaria is an infectious disease caused by the bite of the Anopheles female mosquito. Popularly, this mosquito can be given several names, such as muriçoca, sobriety, mosquito-nail, carapanã or bicuda.
The main symptoms are fever attacks that reappear every 48 or 72 hours accompanied by chills, generalized tremor, delirium, headache and vomiting.
Malaria can be prevented through measures such as the removal of natural breeding sites of insects, such as riverbanks and wetlands; Avoid outdoor exposure between the late afternoon and early morning because these are the times when mosquitoes are most active.
The use of pants and long-sleeved shirts is also indicated on the outside and when using repellents.
