The Chevrolet Onix was the best-selling car in Brazil in 2018 – the compact hatch was at the top of the rankings for the fourth year in a row. During the past year, it had 210,458 placements, more than the sum of second and third places, Hyundai HB20 (105,506 units) and Ford Ka (103,286).
The fourth-ranked driver was veteran VW Gol, with 77,162 units, followed by the Chevrolet Prisma, the best-selling sedan with 71,735 registered cars.
In addition to the registration plates for all segments of vehicles (automobiles, light commercial vehicles, trucks, buses, motorcycles, road vehicles and other vehicles), there was a strong 13.58% in 2018, a total of 3,653,500 units. In 2017, 3,216,730 people were registered.
Including only segments of automobiles and light commercial vehicles, year-to-date growth of 2018 was 13.74% over 2017. In total, 2,470,654 units were recorded in 2018
