The incident occurred in a village in the municipality of Cubará, in the department of Boyacá. Security forces have detected a bomb on a road linking the region to Arauca Department, bordering Venezuela.

"We found more or less 120 pounds of explosives," said Colonel Jorge Luis Agudelo to the press.
According to Agudelo, the power of the explosive was similar to the 80 kilos used by ELN last Thursday during the attack of a Colombian National Police school in Bogota.
"We were able to remove these explosives that would have destroyed everything in front of us, a tragedy that we could avoid thanks to the quick work of our soldiers," said the colonel.
The explosives were found around 8:30 am (local time), the time of the beginning of a demonstration of the inhabitants of the region against the ELN.
The protest was part of a national movement to respond to the attack against the National Police School in Bogotá. The actions were led by the country's president, Iván Duque.
