Officials in the administrative sector of three companies in the Camaçari industrial complex, in the metropolitan area of Salvador, were removed from the units on Thursday morning after feeling an unusual smell. According to the Camaçari Industrial Fortification Committee (Cofic), no employee was ill.
According to the Commission, the situation occurred on Hydrogen and Benzene Streets. In addition, no operational damage has been identified in the companies.
According to the Cofic, by precautionary measures, officials of the administrative area were asked to leave the site and return to work later. A Cetrel technical team took samples from the site to perform badyzes to identify the causes of the odor.
The Cofic also stated that the investigation of the causes is ongoing and that evaluates a series of external factors such as the predominance of winds and trucks and tubvias that carry products through the streets of the Pole.
According to Cofic, Braskem checked all its processes, equipment and systems, and reported that all units are functioning normally.
