(Brazil) – Seven people were killed in an accident around 7 pm Monday (9 am) on the Nazaré road in Guarulhos (SP). Among the dead are two children, aged 10 and 11 years old. The victims were in two cars that crashed in front of them. One of the vehicles was overcrowded, police said.

This was the second accident in less than 24 hours in Greater São Paulo. In the morning, a drunk driver lost control of his overcrowded car and hit a wall in Vila Alpina (east). Two people died and six were injured.

The road where the accident occurred in Guarulhos is double and poorly lit. According to Lieutenant Andre Belarmino of the Military Highway Police, there are indications that a white fox, occupied by a couple, has invaded the opposite lane, hitting a red Celta with seven people. After the blow, Celta turned around. The couple died at the time. Both vehicles were completely destroyed in the middle of the runway.

Five Celtic occupants were killed – three adults and two children. Two teenagers in the car were rescued by the Emergency Mobile Assistance Service (Samu) for hospitals in the area. Until 23:30 on Monday, there was no information about their state of health.

The police did not identify the victims and did not know if the dead were wearing a seatbelt or the speed of the vehicles. The expertise arrived around 11 pm at the scene of the accident. The case will be studied by the 7th DP of Guarulhos. "Only the expertise could calculate the speed at which the cars were, but by the violence of the collision, I imagine that the speed could be high," said Lieutenant Belarmino
