Creed II

Creed II is a spiritual sequence of Rocky IV but its purpose is completely different. While the initial length was a great propaganda about the Cold War and showed the rivalry between the United States and Russia, the film leaves all this aside and focuses on the relations between parents and children with three characters: Adonis, Rocky and Ivan Drago

The film reveals that the boxer is still struggling to get away from the shadow of his father, Apollo Creed (considered the greatest fighter in this universe), and not enough. new life alongside Bianca – whose own trip would produce her own film. The chemistry between Michael B. Jordan and Tessa Thompson is the big motor of the film and both have to take care of a new child who enters the scene to wear this relationship to a new level. However, again, he relies on Rocky's help to solve these problems.

Balboa badumes the role of father of the young creed. Throughout the film, we see that it not only drives the kid into the ring, but also prepares him to give advice on relationships, as well as about parenting. However, in doing so, he finds that the gap that separates him from his son Robert expands further and that the former boxer's great journey is to understand how to improve his relationship with his son's blood. Stallone delivers a performance full of history once again, because everything that comes out of her mouth carries the weight of the past that many spectators know so well.

Contrary to his first appearance in the franchise, where he was a sort of devilish Russian robot, became the character of Dolph Lundgren acquires a humanity hitherto unknown in the character. He is broken. The loss of Balboa made him lose everything. Still, he tries to remain haughty and wants to turn his son into a "robot without feeling" that he once was – although the fighter was very different from him. He sees Viktor only as a form of personal redemption and does not show his true love for his son.

In addition to the first feature film, Creed II contains references that are a solid plate. for fans of the saga. In addition to relying on the return of the characters, the photograph also attempts to reflect these moments, such as the formation of Adonis in the desert (a mirror for the formation of Rocky in the snow in the fourth film).

The screenplay uses a well-known formula to overcome the movies, which may annoy some more attentive viewers who will quickly understand the unfolding of the story. At the same time, the director Steven Caple Jr. took over Ryan Coogler (who only worked as a producer) and the filmmaker decided not to take any chances, because many scenes seem to imitate the style. from Coogler. However, it is only a detail, because the film can excite both franchise fans and new viewers.

Creed II takes up a clbadic formula of sports films, but the drama that underlies it is so powerful that the film delights even if the viewer "discovers" the story at the same time. ;advanced.
