A Datafolha survey published Monday (14) by the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo indicates that 84% of Brazilians are in favor of reducing the age of crime from 18 to 16 years. According to the survey, 14% are opposed to a change in the law, 2% are indifferent or do not have any opinion.
According to the newspaper, the survey was conducted between December 18 and 19, 2018 and heard 2,077 people in 130 counties. The margin of error is 2 percentage points, plus or minus.
The change in the minimum age of admission of a person for a criminal offense is the subject of ongoing projects in Congress. Currently, offenders between the ages of 12 and 18 are using state-administered compliance systems, which are administered by state governments.

According to the survey, among supporters of the reduction, 33% argue that the measure should only apply to certain crimes, while 67% believe that it should apply to all types.
Respondents in the course of the investigation pointed out the minimum age of 15 years on average for someone to be arrested for a crime. For 45%, the minimum age bracket should be 16 to 17 years old. All cuts:

] The Senate has proposed four amendments to the Constitution (PEC) to reduce the criminal majority. In 2018, at the end of the legislature, three of them were put on the back burner.
One of them, which had already been pbaded by the House, remains on the Senate Committee on the Constitution, Justice and Citizenship (CCJ).
The text states that teens aged 16 to 18 must cease to be illegal if they voluntarily commit murder (when they intend to kill), lesions corporal followed by death and heinous crimes (rape, for example), and over 18 years.
