The former Gremio player and Porto Alegre city councilor, José Tarciso de Sousa, nicknamed Tarciso Flecha Negra, died early Wednesday morning (5) in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul. According to the family, the 67-year-old former attacker had a bone tumor.
Tarciso was born in São Geraldo (MG) and arrived in Gremio in 1973, coming from America-RJ. Champion of the Libertadores and Interclubes World Cup in 1983, he is the second major scorer in the history of the club with 226 goals.
According to his family, he was reportedly hospitalized for about a week at the PUC hospital in Porto Alegre and was reportedly released last Friday (30). Monday afternoon, he had an aggravation and could not get up from bed. He was then taken back to the hospital.
Tarciso has been sitting in the Porto Alegre mayor's office since 2008. He leaves his wife, three children and two grandchildren.
The body of the former player will be veiled in front of the town hall of the capital of Rio Grande do Sul from 8am. The burial will be held at the Garden of Peace Cemetery at 6:00 pm.
