" Life ends in parentheses. is resolved and things get back to normal, sometimes it's good to take a break in life before life gives you time … important to perceive the signs, to thank the opportunity to be alive. did not happen. The second doctor who accompanied him, cancer came back aggravating from age 15, in a cumulative sense, by systematic exposure to the sun. "He was not wearing a protector, at that time it was not very common. When I heard about the diagnosis, I was scared at first, especially since I went through bad cancer." then, I tried to inform myself, especially by consulting the mastologist again. "The treatment, contrary to what Eliana might fear, went smoothly, did not require serious procedures , without even having a mark on the face. "Skin cancer was simpler … Taken and ready, she did not need chemotherapy or radiation therapy." Eliana says she's not shutting down not, she talks, she asks for help, she evacuates, she tries not to pbad on the suffering to her children, basically after her husband's death in January. "I have to take care of myself, keep your optimism "I'm going to get out of it, I'm going to take care of it." If I close this illness, it will remain in me. [19659003] According to the National Cancer Institute (Inca), 30% of malignant tumors registered in Brazil correspond to skin cancer. – 180 000 annual occurrences, on a level of 600 000, for cancerous diseases in general: for the years 2018 and 2019, 165 580 000 new cases are expected of the melanoma type, an index representing a decrease of 10 000 episodes presenting this characteristic from one binio to another. For the Brazilian Society of Dermatology (SBD), the campaign attracts special attention from professionals to guide, check and make small In Minas Gerais, coordination of the mining region SBD, under the responsibility of the Vice President of the Ministry of Health, SBD-MG, the dermatologist Maria Luiza Pires de Freitas. "The goal is to educate the public about the risks of sun exposure without adequate protection that can lead to the development of this cancer. The main intention is to teach how to avoid it, the diagnostic measures and access to appropriate therapies, "says Maria Luiza." Public awareness is one of the ways to reduce the number of new cases and, thinking since 1999, the multitude of doctors (19659003)

The work of December Orange supported by the Federal Council of Medicine (CFM) and the Brazilian Medical Association (AMB)) During the fifth year of implementation, the motto "Exposing but not burning" is followed by 39; an attempt to gain public empathy with the talk about solar exposure and exposure in social networks. By reducing the incidence of the disease and the resulting mortality, in ultimately, a country where the name The number of cases of skin cancer is less than one achievable goal.

During mutings, in the situation where the patient presents some suspected problem, the treatment continues to the ward where he had already been evaluated. In 2017, Minas Gerais recorded a record number of visits – in a single day, about 4,300 people, among dermatologists, residents and medical students, pbaded through specialists, representing 450 probable cases of the disease, which have been referred for surgery or follow-up. From the beginning, the mutiro has helped more than 594,000 Brazilians and, during the 20th edition of the national campaign organized by the SBD, 30,000 people would benefit.

The summer is coming, the sun is shining and the skin care needs to be improved . Be careful, with the body's largest organ "Everyone knows that they have to wear sunscreen, but many do not know how to do it," says dermatologist Bruno Vargas, clinic director who bears his name. He emphasizes that the lack of protection, in addition to causing immediate reactions such as redness and burns, can also have long-term consequences. One of them is skin cancer.

* Regardless of skin tone, the sunscreen factor (SPF) should be 30. "Melanin produces in the skin a natural defense of the incidence of light on the skin. body." and therefore, the more the tan is big, so the one with the lightest skin is more exposed, "he says. For each color and type of skin, the filter is more appropriate

* For various reasons, products of SPF50 or 60 should be applied. Children under 12 years of age need SPF of at least 40, but infants under six months of age can not wear SPF. sunscreen and it is therefore recommended to take only 10 minutes. * For those who regularly use moisturizers, bases and anti-aging creams, the most recommended are those with a filter. effect of ultraviolet (UV) radiation Different pharmaceutical formulations are another, which varies according to the type of skin The products without leo, without gel and without gel are ideal for combination, oily or acne skin. are better for dry or sensitive skin and the versions in Aerosol is recommended for areas with hair and scalp.

Every little care
Avoid the interval of highest solar incidence, between 10 am and 4 pm, besides maintaining a body hydration satisfactory, are simple measures to reduce the risk of a cancerous lesion

During the campaign on skin cancer, from this month to March, during the summer, activities and activities of Information on the Internet, on the streets, on the beaches and in the parks will be promoted. People recognized in their fields of action join the movement's team, dressed in orange, while monuments across the country will be illuminated by the symbolism of the campaign. Civil society is also invited to participate, using Laos or oranges cbadettes, in addition to publishing hashtags #DecemberLaranja and #verolaranja in social networks.

The main guidelines of SBD include the adoption of photoprotective measures, such as avoiding the highest solar incidence intervals (between 10:00 and 16:00) and, especially for workers exposed areas, the use of personal protective equipment): wide-brimmed hats, sunglbades with UV protection and clothing covering a large part of the body, even in cold and cloudy weather. This treatment is also suitable for all types of habits and habits, in addition to: looking for shaded areas and maintaining satisfactory body hydration. "The medical company also warns against the daily use of sunscreen, which must be reapplied every two or three hours, or after long periods of immersion in the water ", explains Maria Luiza Pires.

REDUCED CARE

"This set of measures helps to reduce the risk of cancerous injury. We know that some of these are badociated with other factors, such as genetic predisposition and family history. In these cases, redoubled and the visit to the dermatologist should be frequent, "guide dermatologist Patrcia Lima. The doctor remembers that skin cancer in the contagious, that is to say that a person injured, if you are in contact with another healthy, does not transmit the disease. "However, if there is a first-degree relative who has a family history of skin tumors, their chances of suffering from a cancerous lesion increase, such as melanoma."

[Dentiste] Maria Cristina Apgaua asked for help.

[photo: Beto Novaes / EM / DA Press]

The first sign that something was wrong was a strange and different look, appearing on the leg of dentist Maria Cristina Apgaua, 64 years old. She noticed a rough texture and quickly realized that it was not a normal pint, even small (less than 1 cm). When she sought care from a dermatologist, the doctor quickly found that it was a suspicious situation. and after bipolar examination, basal cell carcinoma was discovered. The dentist reported several cases of cancer in the family, but this happened to him in the skin. Since the beginning of treatment, in the next two years, Maria Cristina mentions that she watches over her own body to see if the tumor again. "Since skin cancer is not a problem in some internal areas, the prognosis is much better, especially if it is detected at the beginning. It is important to always consult a doctor and prevent, the safest way to 'prevent the disease from progressing,' he says.

Skin cancer caused by the abnormal and uncontrolled growth of cells that make up the skin. There are different types, which can appear in different ways. The most common are basal cell carcinomas and squamous cell carcinomas (called melanoma cancers). They have a high cure rate if they are diagnosed and treated early. A third type, melanoma, is not the most incidental, but the most aggressive and potentially fatal. At first, it has 90% or more chance of healing.

IRREGULAR PAINTS

Whatever the clbad, excessive and unprotected sun exposure is the leading cause of skin cancer, as well as the use of booths. tanning (Australia, for example). sunny almost all year, country with more skin cancers in the world). The problem may appear as a pint or stain, almost always brownish or blackish, that has a change of color or texture and becomes irregular around the edges; as lesions that persist or continue to grow over weeks or months and bleed easily; as a speckled or reddish nodule, skin color and pearly (shiny); or as a wound that does not heal, it increases and presents with itching, scabs or erosion. The disorder occurs most often in areas of the body usually exposed, such as the face, ears, neck, scalp (in the bald areas), shoulders and back. Only dermatologists and oncologists are qualified to make the diagnosis, from the perception of these first signs. The SBD draws attention to the need for people to review it regularly by consulting a dermatologist in case of uncertainty. It is also important to ask family members to observe the body of those who doubt, because cancers often appear in areas where they can not see alone. The SBD also reminds us that the best way to prevent disease is to prevent it. It should be emphasized that neither the self-examination nor the risk calculator replace the consultation with a dermatologist. Patrcia Lima teaches the famous rule ABCDE, a north that can help the initial perception of skin cancer when observing a pint or spot. Each letter is linked to an aspect that must be evaluated during its examination. After the characters, means: asymmetry (A); edges of the lesion (B); color change, two or more shades (C); lesion size (D) – lesions greater than 6 mm are more suspect -; and evolves – grows and changes color (E). "The rule helps to diagnose an alleged injury, but it does not replace the specialized consultation. It is important to remember that some tenants escape these conventions, as certain types of small, well-defined melanomas, which may present a narrow macroscopic state.Dermatoscopy (examination performed by the dermatologist), have characteristics suggesting a malignancy, "he compares.

Long-term reflexes
More cautious in health, women generally respect sun protection measures and other habits that can reduce the onset of the disease by 50%

. In the opinion of the oncologist Enaldo Melo de Lima, the Brazilians make little case of health in general. "<img src =" https://i.uai.com.br/Fybl_9IeXcLGKEGfhz1kP_RTO2A=/imgsapp2.uai.com.br/app/noticia_133890394703/2018/12/04/238025/20181130122246878494e.jpg "alt =" Mater Dei / Divulga "title =" Mater Dei / Divulga "(Photo: Mater Dei / Divulgao – 20/11/13)

Brazilians do not pay much attention to health in general, not just to skin problems, without report that the attention or lack of attention of the body itself has long-term reflexes, says oncologist Enaldo Melo de Lima, coordinator of the ######################################################################################### 39 Mater Dei Integrated Cancer Hospital in Belo Horizonte Considering the attitudes that lead to the onset of cancer as a whole and, on the contrary, habits to avoid it, preventive measures can decrease between 40 and 50 % of the beginning of the disease, informs the doctor

In this scenario, there is also a comparison between the genders Men are more carefree in health and, in the case of skin cancer, rank first in the number of deaths caused by the disease. "Women are more cautious, they adhere to sunscreen measures such as daily filter application and observation of adequate sun exposure time.In fact, they are more attentive to the health in their global context. They make periodic reviews, for cardiovascular care, gynecological monitoring, mastology, for example, and it is not only in Brazil, it is a global phenomenon, "says the specialist. Regarding skin disorders, another factor is that, in women, the place where cancer appears most often in the legs, more visible, while in humans, a lot in the back, makes difficult its perception.

"It was not necessary to continue with any of them."

another procedure. There was no complication, scar when I noticed the brand, I got it right away taken care, I had the problem at the beginning "- Gilda Valente, 70, retired, about a spot she had at the bottom of the knee (photo: Beto Novaes / Presse EM / DA) [19659005] Gilda Valente, 70, has always been attentive to health problems and said that she did not see any problem: at the beginning of the year, she noticed a different stain at the back of the knee during a self-examination of the body. pink, slightly reddish, rectangular, misshapen. I found this strange, because normally the normal pints are round. I was my usual dermatologist, she even looked at me and directed me to another doctor, who performs minor surgeries. "In the hospital, the doctor removed the stain, which was then sent to Byssia. It was the diagnosis of a skin cancer, in the case of perfectly curved Gilda." None another procedure was necessary. There was no complication, scar, in place or nothing seems. When I noticed the brand, I immediately took care, I had the problem at first. "But the pensioner, who has no trace of the disease in the family, monitors it:" I continue to look at my body, 19659003] At the time of diagnosis of skin cancer, so as not to scare patients, the best way to proceed is to provide information that the tumor is totally curvable, and to demystify the problem. For carcinomas, simple surgeries sometimes resolve, the use of ointments, and for all three types of skin cancer, the demand for chemotherapy or radiation therapy, more aggressive treatments, is very rare. When? it is melanoma, immunotherapy may be suggested. It is an intravenous drug. which activates the defense of the body, with an application every 14 or 21 days, depending on the manufacturer. "The psychological aspect (coping with the disease with pessimism or optimism) has a great deal of influence on the observance of the treatment." The way to approach the situation positively is part of effective and efficient information. of a clarification, "said Enaldo.

The medical recommendation to avoid extreme ultraviolet radiation The difference between UVB and UVA alters the type of damage they cause to the body, clarifies the oncologist. "With UVB, the damage to be burned With UVA, immunogen, that is to say, it influences the immunity of the skin, an organic system whose immunity is modified by radiation. a high incidence, the skin becomes more sensitive from an immune response – its weakened defense system. "

RISK

Among the groups at risk of skin cancer are people with fair skin, blue or green eyes, red or blond hair, who have cases in the family, many pints in the body or who suffered a sunburn before the age of 15 years. For carcinomas, the warning can come from a lesion that: does not heal in 28 days, during which time the skin must regenerate. "For people with black skin, a pint in the p can signal melanoma." But suspicious lesions do not necessarily have definite characteristics. Enaldo explains that the important thing, besides the dermatologist's annual visit for control, is to look for him in the event of a new injury.

There are also dangerous habits and behaviors that can lead to illness, globally to all forms of illness. Among the ideal postures for the disease not to manifest itself, this: maintain a normal body weight and BMI, avoid overweight and obesity, do physical activities, remove cigarettes and alcohol, have a correct and healthy diet and safe bad practices (17% of all cancer cases, usually caused by viruses or bacteria transmitted during badual intercourse).

"We are living a cancer epidemic in the world. The most important health information issue to consider. In Brazil, it is very poor. The irresponsible government, neglecting not to convey the good It does not care about the quality of the service, disorganized, the system in general is degenerated and discarded. At all levels (municipal, state, national), the secretariats and the Ministry of Health have have been extremely involved in conducting education programs for basic health to provide didactic information, improve prevention programs.I hope new leaders will have more commitment, "says the doctor.

Attention to the precautionary principle

Actinic keratosis, also called solar keratosis, is considered a precancerous disease. Solar and dermatological origin, very common in people with skin and light eyes, characterized by desquamative and irritating areas that affect parts of the body exposed to the sun, mainly in acmulos of a lifetime. It can manifest itself in several points of the skin, mainly the face, the scalp, the neck, the back of the arm and the forearm. known as senile keratosis because it is common in the elderly. Even common, it requires specific treatment to avoid serious problems. Most lesions, called keratoses, are benign, but each lesion has a 10% chance of progressing to a malignant tumor, which can predispose to squamous cell carcinoma.

Joo Henrique Faria, 56, a trained journalist and now active in the field of political marketing, discovered pathology. At first, a wound appeared on the right side of the nose, just after the end, which was bleeding profusely. Joo remembers waking up with bloodstained pillows. Without wincing, he looked for a dermatologist who discovered that it was a skin cancer treatment. "He examined my whole body and diagnosed actnica keratosis.I have a very white skin, when I take a red sunbath and I peel it.It comes from an excessive sunshine all through life, from childhood and adolescence, and manifested later. These were small spots that caused dander on the face and shoulders, and it hurt on both sides of shoulder, near the clavicle and nose, the bipsy not revealing cancer, but cancer, said Joo Henrique.

From 1 to c, the symptoms manifested themselves on two other occasions, affecting scalp, forehead and lips Since the discovery of the disease, the journalist has undergone surgical procedures and other treatments. From, take a series of treatments, such as the use of sunscreen, chapu, faa or sun – he learned that mormao was enough to reach the skin n In addition to regular follow-up consultations, he is committed to prevention. "I know people who have lost their noses. The care of the problem does not root and does not spread throughout the body.Return to the doctor at least once a year to give you a state general and know how your health is going. " It's visible skin, I can tell by touch, but there are some invisible problems. "

CARES

Even with the initial fear, at the time of discovery, that the illness turns into a concrete and complicated evil, Joo says that he lives well with the disorder "You might think that it should not be something, it goes through a cure, it's a little soda, but it's not as good." In my case, I'm went to the doctor at the right time, when it happened and that there was no negative evolution. When I know that I'm going to expose myself to the sun, I protect myself In the daily use of the sunscreen, I am a little relapsed, "he does not hide.

Certain types of cancer of the uterus of the Brazilian Academy of Dermatology and the American Academy of Dermatology (International Fellow) The The most common treatments are surgery under several modalities (conventional, micrographic, cryo-surgical), photodynamic therapy and cauterization, with some measures of photoprotection and dermatological evaluations.A few minutes of exposure to the sun to help the patient. Absorption of vitamin D. It is necessary to expose for long periods to ensure the health, to the skin, prescribed by the dermatologist. The use of a sunscreen not very effective against skin cancer because a large part of the solar radiation comes from t rays reflected off the ground. During leisure or outdoor work, the individual should avoid exposure to the sun without adequate protection – invest in sun protection, clothing (some of which include protection against ultraviolet radiation in the mesh) and limit the number of hours of exposure. Skin cancers are more common in older people because they have spent more time exposed to solar radiation. However, the disease can also affect children because of genetic factors. The inheritance also influences the development of skin cancer, but other factors are also involved. The most exposed parts of the body are exposed areas, such as the face, arms and hands, in bald men, the head region and, in women, the prone region (décolleté) and legs . However, the problem may also appear in places that have never been exposed to the sun, such as the bads. The diagnosis made by dermatologists, through medical examinations during the consultation. In addition to the clinical evaluation, dermatoscopy, equipment mapping and bipsia of suspected lesions can be performed. The bipsia made by a plastic surgeon or a dermatologist, after anesthesia of the skin and with the use of a surgical technique. It is a procedure that must always be guided by a doctor. Most skin cancer heals. It is important to emphasize that early diagnosis ensures great chances of total improvement.
