A group of protesters protested this afternoon (16) against the increase of São Paulo's transport tariff.
They met at 17:00 on Praça do Ciclista, Rua Consolação and Avenida Paulista, in the central region.
At 6:20 pm, there was a rioting principle and the prime minister threw gas bombs. According to the company, the confusion began after someone attempted to cross the police cordon.
At 18:39, the act is resumed and the participants continue to walk on Rua Consolação, totally blocked towards the center.
The prime minister initially reported that two people had been arrested. However, at 7:20 pm on Twitter, the company said that "among the demonstrators found, only one woman will be taken to the police district, the other qualified and released."
The act was called by social networks by the Free Pbad. The Movement argues that the increase in the value of the tariff is greater than inflation and unfair to the worker. This is the second event organized by the group. The first one was produced last Thursday (10).
"An increase of 7.5%, double the inflation (3.59%)! The integration between the bus and the trains also increases in this proportion, to 7.48 R $ January 13 The rate of transport is even worse: increase of 14.25%, reaching R $ 4.57! No increase in rates is fair! And with the readjustment of the minimum wage (below Inflation) and labor reform at the tariff will weigh even more in the pocket of the worker, "says the text on Facebook.
The price of the Municipal bus pbad in São Paulo became R $ 4.30 on January 7. Rates for the metro and Paulista company of Trens Metropolitanos (CPTM) also cost R $ 4.30 last Sunday (13).
The increase in the other six municipalities of Greater São Paulo was also started this Monday.
With the single ticket, the pbadenger has the right to make four trips by bus in three hours in the capital São Paulo, or a trip by CPTM or the subway and three others in the buses of the capital for three hours. Every day, 9.5 million pbadengers use the 14,000 buses that run throughout the city.
The municipal administration has decided to keep the subsidy policy only for the pbadenger. Gratuities for the elderly, students and disabled people will be maintained.
The ticket for the companies will no longer be subsidized by the municipal taxes paid by the population.
The amount to be paid by the employer will be R $ 4.57. The end of the subsidy only reaches the companies. For the worker, the reduction of 6% in sheet, as defined in the labor legislation, will not change. The change of the ticket should take effect within 30 days.
The rate increase in the direction of Bruno Covas (PSDB) was 7.5%, an index higher than inflation, which is expected to end 2018 at 3.69%, according to forecasts Central Bank (BC).
The municipality alleges that the increase is based on accumulated inflation of the last three years, according to the IPC-Fipe, of 13.06%.
"For two years, in 2016 and 2017, the rate was not adjusted and remained at R $ 3.80, which had a significant impact on the City's budget. In 2018, there was an increase below inflation, bringing the amount to R $ 4.00. Now, the mayor is making a necessary adjustment of revenues to reduce the imbalance of the system, "he said. he said in a statement.
As a rule, the town hall announces the increase of the bus ticket in conjunction with the state government, which is responsible for readjusting the rates of trains Metro and CPTM. The previous governor, Márcio França (PSB), however, did not speak, leaving his successor, João Doria (PSDB), the responsibility to inform the new award – which occurred last week.
