At age 41, he began his political career at Macapá City Hall. He served for two years (2001 to 2002), when he left his position to serve his first term as a Member of Parliament.

Re-elected twice in the Chamber of Deputies, for a total of three consecutive terms. In the 2014 elections, he was elected senator for an eight-year term. In 2018, he competed for the government of Amapá, but ranked third. With the defeat, he resumed his senatorial mandate.

He managed to reach the presidency of the Senate by winning, with 42 votes, an election marked by controversy.

Marcoló and father of two children, Alcolumbre was born in Macapá (AP) on June 19, 1977. He is the fourth son of the mechanic José Tobelem and the businesswoman Julia Alcolumbre.

He started working in the family business. He started the economics course at the Amapá Higher Education Center (Ceap), but did not complete it and decided to follow the path of politics.

Alcolumbre is close to the Chief Minister of the Civil Household, Onyx Lorenzoni (DEM), who, behind the scenes, has shown his support. Lorenzoni's wife, Denise Verbeling, works in the offices of Alcolumbre.

In the 2018 elections, Davi Alcolumbre told the Electoral Justice to have $ 770,000 in property.

Since 2015, in the Senate, Alcolumbre has participated in important and controversial votes in the House. The Congressman of Amapá, for example, voted in favor of labor reform in 2017.

The same year, he helped the Senate annul the decision of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) that dismissed the then senator Aécio Neves (PSDB-MG), now a federal deputy.

The tucano was dismissed by the Supreme Court after being denounced by the Attorney General's Office, on the basis of JBS allegations, for crimes of obstruction of justice and organization criminal. Thanks to the votes of 44 senators, Aetius was able to resume its parliamentary activities.

Last year, Alcolumbre voted in favor of the readjustment of the STF ministers. By 41 votes, the Senate approved a readjustment of 16% of the magistrates' salary. Maturity increased from 33.7 thousand rand to 39.2 thousand rand.
