A car fell off the ferry between Bertioga and Guarujá off the coast of São Paulo on Thursday night (27). According to information provided by the fire department, a person was reportedly saved alive and divers would have searched in the area.
The accident occurred at 7:30 pm as a vehicle entered the moored ferry to the shore of Bertioga. According to Dersa, responsible for this service in the state, the car was first in line, she crossed the ship at high speed, broke through the protective barrier and fell to the water.
The fire brigade body group initially reported that at least three people were in the vehicle and that two of them had been saved alive. The information was corrected at 9 pm by the company, which confirmed the rescue of only one person.
The city of Bertioga reported that a person had been directed to the municipal emergency room. The victim was shocked and could not tell how many people were in the car. The crossing was to be interrupted indefinitely.
Firefighters report that a boat, two boats and four divers have been relocated, as well as land-based vehicles with the support of the military police. The teams found and mapped the crashed vehicle to locate other potential victims.
