The governor of São Paulo, João Doria, regulated the state law prohibiting the use of masks during protests. The decree published on Saturday (19) in Official Journal also requires that demonstrations involving more than 300 people be communicated to the authorities five days in advance.
The law was approved in 2014, but the governor has not yet regulated it.According to the text, acts must also go through routes previously agreed with the military police. According to the state government, the measures aim to restrict the action of "black blocks who, covering their faces with masks, infiltrate demonstrations to injure people and cause acts of vandalism and acts of violence. The decree also highlights the ban on the use of weapons, explosives or other means of transport, as well as the prohibition to use weapons, explosives or explosives.
