Australian police investigate the shipment of several suspicious packages to several embbadies and consulates in Canberra and Melbourne on Wednesday, according to official sources.
"The parcels are being examined by the emergency services who handled the calls.The circumstances of these incidents are the subject of an investigation", announced the Australian Federal Police in a statement.
The Victoria Emergency Portal, whose capital is Melbourne, reported at least 10 warnings about the possible presence of "hazardous materials" in this southeastern city.
The consulates of the United States, India, France, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Italy, Switzerland, Pakistan and Greece, among others, received embbadies of these packages containing potentially dangerous substances.
