The tool will allow you to enter your email address on a page to find out if the login is present in the online databases of stolen information. The novelty was announced Tuesday (26), but is still in development, with a forecast to reach the first 250,000 users from next week. There is still no prediction for Firefox Monitor to be available for everyone.

Firefox Monitor can also offer an automatic alert to the user. According to Mozilla, a notification system is under study to inform of possible connection errors without the need for manual consultation. The measure requires the continuous sharing of the person's e-mail address. However, the organization claims that the data would be protected for reasons of confidentiality.

"We worked closely with HIBP and Cloudflare to create an anonymous data sharing method for Firefox Monitor, which never sends its full email address to third parties," Mozilla said in a statement.

The tool will be made available to all via an independent website unrelated to Firefox. However, some functions will be unique to browser users. The automatic alert on the disclosed data is likely to be one of them.
